o Adults – 2 – 4 cold a year.
o Children – 6 – 8 per year.

HOW TO PREVENT
Wash your hands thoroughly after touching the items that were in contact with an infected person.
Keep a distance from the infected persons.
Use face mask.
Drink plenty of warm water.
Steaming & gargling is advocated.

Easily digesting food like porridge, soups etc
Warm food stuffs is best.
Luke warm water for both drinking and bathing.
Chicken & vegetable soups with large portion of pepper is advocated.
Complete rest is advocated.
Avoid oily and fried food stuffs.
Backed items are good to ignore.
Cold food and drinks.
Soft drinks .
Milk products with high fat contents.
Exposure to cold atmosphere.
Avoid physical exertion.
Avoid preheated & refrigerated foods.
Drink plenty of luke warm water boiled with any one of ginger,pepper,tulasi leaves.
Black coffee with either dry ginger or pepper use jaggery for sweetening is good sore throat.
Steaming – water boiled with turmeric & tulasi leaves best for running nose.
Gargling – saline luke warm water arrest sore throat.
Drink honey for dry cough.
Take honey mixed with pepper powder.
Chewing of tulasi leaf is good for throat irritations.
Equal amount leaf juice of adhatoda vasica and honey good for cough.
